Who made you judge?

Whenever I hear people talking bad about others, I immediately reflect upon my own shortcomings. Certainly, we all have, at one time or another spoken negatively towards friends, family, coworkers, etc. This, in and of itself, demonstrates our inability to lead a perfect life, yet, we continue to bad mouth our neighbors. As I reflect upon the many wrongdoings that I have committed, I am forced to recognize, that I too, am no better than the person standing next to me. In other words, who am I to judge? Having made many mistakes in the past, I began to practice finding the good in people and avoid accusing and judging them for their flaws. I find this to be a better way of living my life, by avoiding all of the unnecessary gossip, that quite honestly, serves no purpose. Won't you join me in practicing a mercy filled lifestyle instead of passing judgement on others? Jesus himself, said "He who is without sin, cast the first stone?" Any takers?

  2. It's not that fact if we should love people, we are commanded to love people. And if God hates Sin then we should hate sin. I cant take my 401k with me a big house or a nice car, all I can take is an account for my life, and If we vote for things and for people who don't see it as God see's it, then we should look at the way we call ourselves Christians, Because if we stand for things that God does not stand for then I feel sorry for those that think it's okay.

  3. Boy, I somehow feel as though I got caught in the crosshairs of a political battle. However, you both have valid points. We can't take our 401k with us, right now, my 401k is depleted, so I really don't care, at this time. But seriously, truth be told, in spite of our political views, we are to love people unconditionally as this truly is our duty unto God. I will forever demonstrate this type of love in the most genuine way I know how, because the Father has lavished it upon my own life. Having said that, I do believe that we as Christians are called to a higher standard, not a perfect standard, but a higher one. The scripture acknowledges that we will know people by their fruit and so, although we don't judge them personally, we do examine the actions of men (women too!)and measure them against the Word of God and then cast our vote accordingly. Moving away from politics, it is bestowed upon every believer that we keep our hearts (pure)soft and soft enough to love people into the kingdom of God, because eternity is far more important than the cultural issues we face in America today. If someone were to ask me to choose either Mercy or Judgment, Mercy would win every time. James 2:13 "Mercy triumphs over judgment".
